Booking Conditions and Cancellation Policy

Customers are strongly encouraged to take out their own travel insurance including cancellation and covid illness insurance.
Terms and conditions can be amended at any time and will be available on the website.

Kimberley Safari Tours does not issue refunds or credits if a tour runs but a guest cancels or fails to present for a tour for any reason.

Cancellation Policy:

If the Customer Cancels:

All guests must pay a deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is fully refundable within the first 30 days of booking subject to the conditions below. Customers who wish to cancel must immediately inform, in writing, Kimberley Safari Tours (KST). When the written notice has been received by KST, the cancellation will then take effect. The following cancellation charges apply:

  • If a customer cancels within 30 days of booking, and the notification of cancellation is more than 90 days from the tour departure date the customer will be entitled to a full refund.
  • If a customer cancels after 30 days from booking and more than 90 days from their tour departure date the customer is entitled to a full refund less their deposit.
  • If a customer cancels between 60 and 90 days of departure the customer will forfeit 25% of the tour price.
  • If a customer cancels between 45 and 60 days of departure the customer will forfeit 50% of the tour price.
  • If a customer cancels 44 days or less days prior to the departure date, the customer will forfeit the full 100% of the tour price.
  • If a customer leaves the trip early for any reason the customer will forfeit the full 100% of the tour price.
  • Refunds are not available on credits or credit vouchers issued.
  • Any refunds or credits will be less any unrecoverable costs.

 

Cancellation by Kimberley Safari Tours:

Every effort will be made not to cancel a trip. It is the right of Kimberly Safari Tours to cancel or postpone any of its tours at any time prior to departure. This would usually be because of conditions such as bad weather, road and traffic conditions, severe storms or other natural disasters, lack of passengers, mechanical defect, an event that is beyond the control of KST and any other circumstance where changing the itinerary is not practicable. If KST does cancel a trip as a result of factors beyond its control (eg a natural disaster, pandemic, cyclones, extreme weather conditions, road closures, etc) the customer will be offered a credit or credit voucher to use on an alternative KST trip. If KST cancels a trip as a result of factors within its control (eg vehicle breakdown, driver falls sick, etc) the customer may choose between a credit / credit voucher to use on an alternative KST trip or a full refund. In the event of cancellation for any reason, KST will not accept or pay for any liability for incidental expenses (e.g. visas, vaccinations or non-refundable travel and airfares). ). In circumstances where the cancellation by Kimberley Safari Tours is due to external events outside KSTs reasonable control any refunds or credits, if applicable, will be less any unrecoverable costs.
 

Covid-19 Requirements

All guests must comply with the WA state government mandated requirements. 
Any guest who tests positive during the tour or becomes ill with Covid-19 will be required to leave the tour in the nearest available major centre.
Any transportation costs (eg to collect or drop off a Covid positive guest, ambulance, emergency flight etc) when a guest leaves or re-joins a tour will be at the guests expense. There are no refunds if a guest is unable to join the tour or leaves the tour early due to Covid (although some guest insurance policies may cover this).
 

Credits & Credit Vouchers

Credits / Credit vouchers are for use on KST tours only.

Credits / Credit vouchers issued are non-refundable.

Credits are valid for 18 months from date of issue and may be used for the same type of KST tour in the same or the next season.

Guests may choose to use a credit / credit voucher towards a more expensive tour (e.g. a longer tour longer tour). In such a case, guests will be required to pay the difference between the price of the two tours.

No refunds are available for unused credits / credit vouchers or any unused portion of a credit / credit voucher.

Should a guest who has booked a tour using a credit / credit voucher wish to cancel, the value of the credit / credit voucher decreases as follows.

  • If a customer cancels more than 90 days before the tour departure date they retain the value of the credit / credit voucher less $500.
  • If a customer cancels between 60 and 90 days of departure the value of their credit / credit voucher decreases by 25%
  • If a customer cancels between 45 and 60 days of departure the value of their credit / credit voucher decreases by 50%.
  • If a customer cancels 44 days or less days prior to the departure date, the customer will forfeit the full 100% value of the credit / credit voucher.
  • If a customer leaves the trip early for any reason the customer will forfeit the full 100% of the value of the credit / credit voucher.
  • Refunds are not available on credits or credit vouchers issued.

Unacceptable Behaviour on Tours:

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, unacceptable behaviour by guests will not be tolerated. Unacceptable behaviours may take different forms and could include unwelcome advances to other passengers, drunkenness, rude or aggressive behaviour, degrading sacred sites or the environment etc. KST staff reserve the right to expel guests for unacceptable behaviour at any time during a tour. No refunds are provided in such cases. Any additional costs incurred in returning an expelled guest to Broome will be at the expelled guest’s expense.

Severability

In the event that any term or condition contained in these booking conditions is unenforceable or void by operation of law or as being against public policy or for any other reason, then such term or condition shall be deemed to be severed from this contract or amended accordingly only to such extent necessary to allow all remaining terms and conditions to continue as binding.

 

General Tour Conditions

No refunds are provided. Any additional costs incurred in returning an expelled guest to Broome will be at an expelled guests expense.

In not already paid this will include an invoice for the deposit (or full payment if less than two months before departure).

Payment

Please pay the outstanding balance by the due date. Payment options are direct deposit or credit card (surcharges apply for credit cards).

Non payment

If full payment is not made on or prior to the due date KST will reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled.

Health / Age Limit / Fitness

We have no upper age limit as peoples physical abilities vary and are not necessarily age related. Please remember that you need to be able to walks on uneven ground into gorges for a duration of approximately three kilometres each day (five kilometres on the Outback Tour). Please let us know on booking if you have a condition which may affect you while you are on tour. Please contact us if you wish to book children. Kimberley Safari Tours reserve the right to refuse a guest to join the tour if Health or mobility issues are deemed as not being suitable for the tour.
